The Big Island Sports Hall of Fame Committee is accepting nominees for its 2025 class by visiting www.bigislandsports.org by Jan. 15, 2025.
Founded in the early 1990s by sports advocate and coach, the late Jack Matsui, the non-profit 501c corporation BISHOF was established to honor the athletic achievements and contributions that have positively impacted the participants, their family, community and the sport in which they were nominated — promoting athletics and sportsmanship on Hawai’i Island and throughout the world.
BISHOF President, Jerry Chang said “It’s important that we recognize our outstanding Hawai’i Island athletes, coaches and supporters that have represented our island and state with honor and dignity, while also mentoring and positively inspiring our youth in the amateur and professional ranks.”
Applicants must be at least 35 years of age on or before Dec. 31, 2025. All applications must be received no later than Jan. 15, 2025 to be considered.
Recipients will be inducted at 10 a.m. March 8 with the unveiling of their photos on the BISHOF wall in the Prince Kuhio Plaza near the theater entrance, followed by an awards luncheon ceremony at 12 p.m. in the ARC of Hilo.
